Brace: Expensive monopoly concessions to be reviewed

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Economy asked the
government to review four concessions: Fiscal Stamps, Fuel Coloring,
Fiscal Cases and Vehicle Technical Inspection.

Brace says that this market is in the conditions of a monopoly, and concessions have increased the fiscal burden for businesses and citizens.

“We requested a clear market liberalization. If today’s opposition shouts about 160 new taxes, half of that value is the cost of these concessions in one year. We must liberate businesses and citizens from this unnecessary fiscal burden that brings nothing for the state budget and that is only taken by the clients of the former government, and by the former politicians of this country”, Brace declared.

The Head of the Commission of Economy Insists about a control over the fuel market, which is keeping fuel prices high, although they have dropped in international stock markets.

“I want to keep encouraging the Competition Authority to continue their investigation in the fuel market and liberate it from the constantly increasing prices that do not reflect its international price drop”, Brace declared.

Brace also spoke about the government’s operation against those who steal energy, and accused the opposition of supporting abusers.

“I invite the biggest fighter against the payment of electricity, Sali Berisha, to show if he has paid his electricity bills. The same appeal goes to Lulzim Basha. He must tell the citizens how much he consumes and if he benefits from the electricity price changes. If they don’t do it, I will do it”, Brace declared.
