Prosecution for businesses without a fiscal case

Businesses caught without registering their workers and without installing fiscal taxes will be criminally prosecuted.

The Commission of Finances and Economy, by proposal of the government, changed the law for tax procedures.

“When someone repeats it for the fourth and fifth time, it means that there is no technical problem or any mistake, but an intentional action. These people will be prosecuted”, declared the Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani.

Despite the harsher measures for repeated violations, the new government amends have brought a series of easier options for businesses, starting with reducing fines in 12 cases.

“The reduction of the level of fines will help businesses. It will continue our answers to the constant requests of businesses. After these fines are almost halved, it is the right of tax institutions to have everyone with a rational behavior, so that everyone behaves rationally to the law requirements and pays taxes”, Cani declared.

The new law forces tax institutions to publish all court decisions regarding taxes. This reduces the VAT reimbursement time.

“The tax administration proposes to do the VAT reimbursement controls based on a risk analyze and based on the VAT reimbursement requests that show no risks but that can be reimbursed quickly. To guarantee the VAT reimbursement, it is decided that the payment of the reimbursable crediting surplus will be paid within five days through the treasury system”, declared the Socialist MP, Ervin Koci.

The new law establishes a minimal deadline for pledges seized in case of appeals, and cuts the time Tax Offices are allowed to wait before a decision three to two months.
