Drug lab seized in Elbasan. Enver Hoxha’s nephew arrested

The police seized a drug lab in Xibraka, Elbasan, the biggest so far,
placed in some abandoned government buildings. A couple of old people
say they had leased the building a few months ago and had no idea what
was going on there.
“We own the building but we leased it. We haven’t seen anything suspicious”, says the owner.
Police found 100 kg of mixed cocaine, a considerable amount of pure cocain, 4 tons of mixer and a series of instruments that were used for the process.
Police has arrested eight people, two of whom are Columbian. The Police say the suspects are: “Gentian Gjonaj, Arian Dalipi, Ilir Hyseni and Klemend Dalipi from Elbasan; Ermal Hoxha and Saimir Batku were arrested in Tirana. Police found 300.000 EUR in Batku’s vehicle. The others were arrested in Elbasan.
The operation held by the police was coordinated with the German police. The lab was discovered after a cooperation with the German police for several months.
The data showed that the drug arrived to Albania from Latin America through Palm Oil. In Albania they only made the division. Then the drug was sent to European countries.
The operation is still on in other cities, Elbasan, Tirana, Durres, Fier and Vlore. The police is looking for other people involved in this traffic.
