From February 1st, citizens who build illegal structures will not get
away with a fine, but will be held in prison for criminal charges.

The new law amends of the Criminal Law have turned illegal construction into a criminal act, not only for owners, but also for builders and supervisors.

“Prison sentences vary from 1 year to 5 years. There will be a three-year sentence for those who assist in illegal constructions”, Dallendyshe Bici declared.

The Head of the Legislation, Urban Planning and Integration of Unauthorized Buildings, Artan Lame, reminded the deadline for the declarations. He appealed citizens to appear at ALUIZNI for the procedures.

“After this last appeal, no one should complain of not having the possibility to complete the self-declaration procedures. All citizens are still in time to come at our offices until January 31st”, Lame declared.

There are 280.000 objects waiting to be legalized. But with the opening of the self-declaration process until December 31st, 80.000 other objects are opened to be evaluated by ALUIZNI specialists.
