The General Chief of Police asked the Prosecution to be more serious in
the fight against corruption, and not neglect the role of the judiciary
police.

The Chief of Polcie, Artan Didi, gave these strong declarations in a consultative meeting for the fight against corruption with Albanian and Foreign experts.

“The problem lays on incomplete investigations and lack of efficiency by the Judiciary Police”, which the Chief of Police considered a decor for the Prosecution. Didi held the same stance after the meeting, in an interview for Top Channel.

“I raised the problem for reinforcing the Judiciary Police, because we often see the term Judiciary Police treated as a special element of the judiciary system, when it is under complete direction of the Prosecution. This makes that structure not very efficient. I treated the problem from this point of view, because the fight against corruption in the judiciary system and among higher public figures has not given the desired results. I raised the problem from this point of view, ue to the lack of proper investigations, because there would be no judges so unscrupulous to not be afraid from the law, if charges against them had complete evidence”, Didi declared.

Didi says that besides these gaps and the need for a more intensive Prosecution in the investigations, the position of the Judiciary Police should be changed by law.
