Lame: Auto-declaration is over. 427.000 illegal objects

For 22 years have been built 427.000 illegal objects. After the
conclusion of the auto-declaration process, Artan Lame, the head of the
respective agency, ALUIZNI, published a statistic of the illegal
buildings. Tirana is ranked first.
“Tirana has 35.680 illegal buildings, 10.680 only inside the Tirana Municipality borders. The last on line is Kukes, with 1441 illegal constructions. In total there are 427.000 undeclared constructions in Albania, from 1992 to today”, declared Artan Lame, head of ALUIZNI.
The auto-declaration process concluded in January 31st. Now the working groups at Aluizni will start their verifications on terrain.
Lame appealed citizens to report any case of abuse or corruption during the process. He said that no one will be allowed to build illegally in Albania.
The new law states that those who build illegally will be punished with five years in prison. Those who help building the illegal constructions will be sentenced to three years in prison.
