FBI officials in Tirana meeting Rama and Tahiri for the establishment of NBI.

A group of FBI including Deputy Assistant Director J. Chris Warrener and
Deputy Assistant Director of International Operations Brian McCauley
came to Tirana.

A diplomatic source cited for Top Channel that the FBI delegation wants to establish the bases of a wide cooperation with the Albanian Government.

For more than two hours within the Ministry of Interior office, the FBI directors met the Minister Saimir Tahiri, who has requested that the recruitment personnel of NBI be supervised by the FBI, because this bureau will start its activity with a new duty from the government, intensive investigations for fiscal evasion.

The directors of FBI had a meeting with the Prime Minister Edi Rama in his office. The primary request from the head of the government during this meeting was his persistence that the National Bureau of Investigations be under the assistance of FBI.

During the meeting with the directors of FBI for the structure of the NBI, Rama expressed that with this mechanism and FBI supervision, Albania will fight not only the organized crime, but also the economic crime and the corruption of the officials.

The Prime Minister requested from the FBI direct assistance for the Police Academy from the famous American Academy of Anticrime.
