orientation towards the EU. The German Foreign Minister, Frank Walter
Steinmeier, left to be understood that the recent developments have
raised question about his.

“We hope there will be no more such developments, and that the will to continue the EU path gets consolidated in Macedonia, rather than raising questions about this. The EU is ready to undertake an intermediating effort”, Steinmeier declared.

“The current crisis should not escalate. The orientation of Macedonia and of all the countries in the region should remain that of the European Atlantic integration, which is based on the rule of law and good ethnic relations, as foreseen by the Ochris agreement”, Bushati declared.

Minister Bushati guarantee the Foreign Minister of one of the most important EU members about the clarity of Albania’s orientation.

“Albania will continue to be a credible EU partner to follow a constructive policy with well defined structures”, Bushati underlined.

The issue of asylum seekers was also one of the topics discussed. Steinmeier valued the clarifying campaign of the Albanian authorities in cooperation with the German embassy.
