Police Chief arrested for compromising operations

The Deputy Chief of Elbasan Police, also Chief of the Crimes Department,
Abaz Lala, was arrested by the Internal Service over power abuse
charges. The Court decided to keep him in prison until trial.
Fatjon Susaj, officer of the Judiciary Police and accused of power abuse, was suspended from his duty for not reporting the power abuse cases of his chief.
Lala’s accusations are related to an event that took palce on September 2014, when a person was stabbed and the suspects were left free. The Internal Service discovered that the reports did not represent what really happened.
“Fatjon Sulaj has hidden this criminal act and has omitted the facts requested by law, by order of his superiror, Abaz Lala”, sources say.
And it does not stop here. His brother, Astrit Lala, has registered a cafe in Elbasan as small business, which was managed by the Deputy Chief himself. Thanks to his duty, he has avoided all tax obligations.
Lala is also suspected of favoring gamble shops in exchange of bribes.
