The US Ambassador to Tirana, Donald Lu, valued the process of
decriminalization which aims to clean the list of candidates for the
local elections of June 21st. He also published a new initiative of the
US administration.
During an interview for Voice of America, which will be published in the hours to come, Lu greeted the removal of people with a criminal past from those list, although some of them are still there.
The US diplomat gave his consideration about the electoral campaign, corruption and the initiative of the US embassy to ban corrupted officials from the US.
Lu commented the process of the judiciary reform, its importance and the lack of involvement from the opposition.
