Businesses will not pay anymore 39 Euros for declaration, but 22. The
government says they have reduced the price after a negotiation with the
concessionary company, and after many complaints by businesses.

The agreement sent to Parliament by the Council of Ministers says that the new fee will be divided in two blocks. Custom declarations wih a value higher than 1000 EUR will have a 22 EUR payment for the scanning. Declarations under this value will pay 5 Euros.

The government says that this negotiation has saved more than 100 million EUR to businesses for the next 15 years. The first scheme would give to “Rapiscan” 316 million EUR for 15 years. Now t will be 210.

However, this concession is still a heavy burden for businesses, especially for manufacturers, who make a high number of customs declarations each year. Representatives say that the concession raises the costs up to 7000 EUR each month for some companies.
