June 21st elections, CoE sends 24 observers in Albania

24 observers of the Council of Europe will arrive in Albania for the
June 21st elections. The mission is led by the Deputy President of the
Congress of Regional and Local Authorities at the Council of Europe,
Steward Dickson.

The delegation underlined this is the first time that the new territorial structure is being voted. The mission will stay in Albania from June 18th to June 22nd.

According to the official notification, the delegation has representatives from1 5 countries, five of whom from the European Union. One of its experts will be Christina Binder. The Mission will meet with the Central Election Commission leader, Lefterije Luzi, and the Prosecutor General, Adriatic Llalla.

There will also be meetings with the representatives of parties and coalitions who are part of these elections, and the candidates for mayors of the Tirana Municipality.

“The delegation of the Congress will have 11 teams to observe th voting in Tirana, Kukes, Fier and Shkoder”, the announcement says.

The mission will then publish the preliminary conclusions in a joint press conference with the OSCE/ODIHR mission, on June 22nd in Tirana.
