“This was an electoral farce, the ugliest process in the history of
pluralism! Free elections and crime cannot stay together! This is the
ugliest, the most humiliating farce for honest voters in the entire
history of pluralism”.

This is how the former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, started a list of reasons why these elections are a farce.

1) Berisha says that Rama has appointed incriminated candidates.

2) Berisha says that voters in poor economic conditions had pressure from gangs tied to the government.

3) The former Prime Minister says that the money of drugs, prostitution and other crimes were used by the government for manipulating citizens.

4) Berisha says that votes have been purchased as never before with money, posts, flour, goods, ID cards, violence and terror, in every corner of the country.

5) “For Berisha, this was the most unequal campaign ever held. He says that the government, by order of Edi Rama, used all institutions for electoral purposes, not only the human resources, but also the material ones.

6) The former Prime Minister says that Rama has threatened the opposition that if they didn’t vote for him, they would face a lack of running water, electricity, roads and investments.

7) Berisha says that the DP activists have been attacked, their businesses have been blocked and their licenses have been revoked.

8) Berisha says that the opposing media have been attacked and their goods were seized by violating every law.

9) Berisha says that this day that looked calm at first, was an ugly day when the electoral materials were transported, according to him, with the vehicles of the armed gangs of this government.

Berisha appeals the international community to not legitimize these elections, in which, according to him: “As never before have prevailed the criminals of this government, the money of drugs and prostitution. Were destroyed the basic and international principles of elections”.
