Fuel pollution: Environment Inspectorate suspends and fines companies

The Environment Inspectorate has been investigating the oil companies
that operate in Fier and Vlore districts, where the fuel pollution is
much higher. “Feniks” is one company that was fined with 5 million ALL
for illegally polluting the Amonica water source in Vlore.

Ergys Agasi, Head of the Environment Inspectorate, says that its activity has been suspended and if the company will not take measures within 30 days, their licenses will be revoked.

The Inspectorate has also suspended ARMO and is allowing Bankers to operate in only one provisory ecological well that has been approved by the Minister of Environment. This company has brought another way of treating wastes, which is being studied by the environment experts before applying it on terrain.
