Donald Lu: “Reform brings back trust to judiciary”

The US Ambassador, Donald Lu, declared this Tuesday that the
all-inclusive reform is one of the ways to return the public’s trust on
the judiciary.

“The Albanian citiznes need to know who are the corrupted judges and Prosecutors, and who are honest and that do their job. How can citizens trust tjat the judiciary is taking a righteous decision without money in exchange? Through an all inclusive reform. Experts from the USA, the EU and Council of Europe have invested in support of this reform. MP Edaurd Halimo declared that the opposition will be part of the reform commission. The citizens must feel safe that this process will progress”, Lu declared.

The Ambassador said that another method is perfecting the technology through which justice will be able to bring high-level official to justice.

“Not only are we interested to see citizens take a responsible work from their judges, but we hope that the judiciary reform and the new technologies will bring to justice more violent criminals, more members of the organized crime, more corrupted officials”, Lu underlined.

The Minister of Justice, Nasip Naco, greeted the inclusion of the opposition in the judiciary reform. The declaration was made during the inauguration of the Central Archive, where the digital audio recordings of trials will be stored.
