The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that the new law for
decriminalization will pas in September to make a thorough scanning of
politicians and administration employees.

“The issue of public administration employees with criminal records will be treated legally. It will be part of the new judiciary reform or a law of its own. But this is a technical issue. We will pass it for those who have been really sentenced by courts. We don’t want to make witch hunts. This is done by the hunters’ club remained from the Enver Hoxha regime and that have been recycled at the Democratic Party. We are not making any new invention with this law. We are using the model of Italy”, Rama declared.

The Prime Minister rejected voices about cabinet changes.

“The government will be refreshed during August. Every Minister will return at work after August and we will work as we are. There is no reason to make changes”, Rama declared.

As for a possible visit of the Greek PM to Tirana, Rama said he is welcome and that Rama has no plan to visit Greece this year.

Rama also mentioned the contested oil areas, where researches were blocked.

“It is a loss for us that we couldn’t make researches in that area because it is a contested area that according to us belongs to Albania. We cannot hand over that part of the territory simply because there are researches to be made. That territory belongs to Albania and we have agreed with Greece that if we don’t find common language, it will be decided by a third party”, Rama declared.
