Rama determined to establish rule of law in economic activities

Prime Minister Edi Rama declared on Thursday that “the Albanian government is determined to carry through to the end the battle to install the rule of law in the economic and commercial activities of the country”.
Meeting with tax authority employees, Rama repeated the Minister for Economic Development statement of the day before, that the September campaign “is not a battle against businesses but a battle to protect consumers from those who steal the money needed by the state in order to reduce taxes”.
Nevertheless, Rama emphasized that this campaign must be done with respect towards businesses and urged people to denounce any inappropriate behavior from customs and tax authority employees. “They need to thank every honest businessman and punish those who break the law”, the Prime Minister said, adding: “Winning this battle means tax reductions and salaries increase. Reducing informality is equal with a new burst of economic and social development”.
