PM Rama: “Judiciary corruption hampering economic progress”

The arbitrary verdicts of corrupted judges are hampering the economic
progress, according to the Albanian Prime Minister during a meeting
between the government and the Bank of Albania.

Rama said that the unblocking of justice would allow banks to execute orders for seizing collateral properties and releasing banks from the grip of corruptive justice. This would be an important step for unblocking loans.

Rama mentioned a series of reforms that would help the economy, so that the government can return all delayed payments to businesses, debts that Rama says were inherited by the former government.

The Bank Governor declared that the bad loans have not damaged the banking system, although they remain high. He suggested legal amends to accelerate the loan evaluation process and the execution of collateral orders.
