The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, explained that the letter
which demanded a reduction of the projects with the OSCE, which has
been commented as an effort of the government to make the OSCE leave
after an informal report that was sent to the media and which mentioned
ties of politicians with business interests and mafia actors.

The Albanian Foreign Minister declared that the request for prioritizing projects is normal procedure done with every other organization.

“The mandate of the OSCE in Tirana has changed several times. We all agree that their mandate should be more efficient to push forward the challenges of Albania”, Bushati declared.

The Foreign Minister defended the decision for removing from his duty the Albanian ambassador at the OSCE, Spiro Koci. The President complained that the Foreign Minister was overtaking competences with this decision.

“I respect the Presidency and I have not overtaken any competence. I am simply respecting the law”, Bushati underlined.

As for the Syrian refugees, Bushati declared there has been no negotiation for the time being. The Minister made these decelarations during a session for developments in Kosovo, where the opposition Parliament members have been absent, despite their patriotic declarations.
