The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke about the CEZ affair and
did not exclude the participation of international investigators. He
said that the investigation should start with the decisions of the
Energy Regulation Entity, behind which, according to Rama, hides those
who are accusing the government today.
“You speak about 600 million EUR that have been stolen from us, while your ‘de-facto’ leader asys 800 million. But the current leader says 500 million. You have simply taken an average. We asked the FBI if they are available to assist, since you wanted international investigation. We would be happy if you would join, in case we take a positive answer from the FBI investigators. But what happened with the famous company? Happened what we had warned since 2009, but I don’t want to remind you of my declarations as opposition leader, or the declarations of Erion Brace. I will invite you to follow the progress of this privatization. Within one year, the regulatory declaration changed four times, forcefully,making room for a complete failure of this privatization, by damaging the Albanian people. This change that you made turned into a permission for the company to use it against the Albanian government in the Abitrage Court. You gave guarantee to CEZ, so that they would never be sopped by anything. The financial damage caused goes at around 250 million EUR. The ERE decision that will be presented as the initiating document of this report. It will publicly denounce that the man you appointed was fired due to suspicions about this decision. I am not referring to sources saying the Prime Minister himself had instructed ERE for this decision, but when the affair was discovered, he asked the director to resign. Why didn’t the Prime Minister of that time open an investigation right away? Why did he keep reducing the proce and sell energy where he liked, without supporting the decisions on any legal norm of government level. This is another element that will serve to the investigation. Those who made the affair yesterday are making accustions today. You will not be able to hide from those who will investigate this affair, without mentioning the violent interruption of the relations with an international company, by giving them a huge legal weapon by suspending all investigations in Prosecutions against CEZ employees”, Rama declared.
The former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, kept accusing Prime Minister Rama:
“Rama steals everyday. He controls every tender in this country. A friend of his won the tender for the OSHEE building, with the highest bid”, Berisha declared.
“The CEZ affair is the biggest, but Rama continues with his lies. The conflict with the DIA is made up”, Berisha added and accused the government of having failed to recover losses.
