The Albanian opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, met with the Shengjin
fishermen and promised no excise on oil for each of them, easier
licensing procedures, lower fees, a shipyard for repairs, etc. He
promised that on the first week in power, his government will repeal all
corruptive lagoon concessions.

“They have given the Patoku Lagoon to someone who knows nothing about fishing, only to sell the license. I give my word of honor that on the first day in power I will repeal these concessions. You will be the ones to manage the entire sector and who will benefit its perks. Fishermen complained that besides the increased gas price, they are not allowed to fill their vessels in Montenegro or Italy, where it is cheaper. They complained that the voncessions are taken by clients of the government. They also complained about the business registration high fees”, Basha declared.

The opposition leader underlined that the building of a shipyard for repairs will be a priority of their government.
