The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, attended meetings with the
Parliamentary Commission of European and International Matters, and
with the Commission of Economy in the German state of North
Rhine-Westphalia, as part of the Dusseldorf visit.
During these meetings was discussed for the progress of Albania in the EU integration process, the security situation in Europe, the refugee crisis and the cooperation areas between Albania and North Rhine-Westphalia, especially in technology and professional education.
Meta underlined that the reforms of Albania, especially in justice, will show a safer legal climate for foreign investments. He invited German companies to invest in Albania as a country that offers opportunities.
The Chairman of the Commission for European and International Matters at the Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, Nicolas Kern, said for the media that Albania offers big opportunities for investors, especially in energy.
Kern underlined that Albania might earn a lot from the experience of Germany in this sector, and that some German companies are interested to cooperate in the energy sector.
